Sixteen-year-old Abigail Mitchell wasn’t prepared the day the zombie apocalypse began. Neither was anyone else. But then again, who would be?
While visiting her estranged father over four hundred miles away from her home in Pineville, Kentucky, Abby learns that the dead are resurrecting and attacking the living. Hell-bent to get home to her mother and boyfriend Conner, Abby is forced to make the journey home alone with her six-year-old sister Ava in tow.
Zombies are everywhere. Marauders are taking what they want and killing whoever gets in their way. And Abby fears she may never make it home again.
Realizing the trip home will not be as easy as she thought, she decides to join together with another group to increase her chances of survival and to get Ava home safely. And even then it proves to be a challenge.
Nothing else matters to Abby but getting Ava home safely to their mother and herself back in Conner’s arms, that is, until she meets Jeremiah. Then nothing seems to go as she planned.
My Devouring Love The First Weeks is a zombie novel with a love story mixed in. Due to graphic language recommended for ages sixteen and up.

I enjoyed the story line of the book. The author had the right idea but sadly it was poorly written and needed a good editor. I understand every author has to start somewhere but I do think the author can go through this book and do some rewrites. Or have some beta readers.Product details

This book just seemed to lack a strong basic structure. The story was very predictable.
I struggled with the narration of this story which isn't to say others won't love it.
The plot was very good, but it was hard to read. Creative writing gives writers a lot of liberties, but comma splices and misplaced fragments really make the story a struggle to read. These things are important in order to be taken seriously as a writer. I suggest having someone who is good at this read it before publishing if you can't afford an editor. Also, the dialogue was a little stilted in some areas. Most people talk with contractions and slang, so add more of that to the writing. The story really was good, and I did like the characters.
Even though I wanted too. No offense but it seems to have been written by a preteen.it had a good story line that just failed for me because the main character was just annoying in a very preteen way she actually says to two fellow survivors you're not my mom and then you're not my dad. Really and it's that attitude the whole way except she continually comments about saving the hot water for other like it offsets her rudeness anyway lol could have been good but you have to like the main character to be able to finish a book
Story line is not bad, but why publish something that you cannot take the time to edit?! I wanted to pull out a red pen, edit it and then send it back! There is a BIG difference between the words wonder and wander "We wanted to go slow just in case any zombies wondered in front of us."
The same with the words sense and since "It only made since that Marshall stay here with Margie..."
Lastly, cocking their handguns before they shoot? What, are we back in the wild west, people?! It is so NOT necessary to cock a handgun before firing it!!
I'm 55% done with the book; let's hope I won't need to modify my review because of any other drivel.
My Devouring Love The First Weeks by Donna Neville-Theiler is not a bad read. I am more of a romance reader at heart, meaning I prefer reading books where the main characters are faithful to each other to the end. Temptation is one thing, but when you follow through with that temptation that’s where you lose me. There is too much cheating in the real world, which is why I prefer the fictional world to be better. Secondly, the story can benefit from more action, suspense, and gory descriptions. It’s a bit bland.
Very exciting with virtually almost non-stop action. New writer for me and I give her a thumbs up. Looking forward to reading next one
